![]() The bathroom had a shower & toiletries, and it was clear everything was clean. We had a coffee machine and bottled water given to us for drinking. The bed was comfortable, everything in the room worked. 2 of us stayed there with 2 cases and we found enough room to move around. There was small walkway between the door to the room and the bedroom. We were on the 21st floor, and our room was on the corner overlooking the front of the building and the construction site across the street. I was happy with the size of our room when we arrived. Room: A lot of rooms in NYC are “small” when compared to counterparts in other cities so I never expect masses of space. It may be a small thing, but it showed good customer service to me. We experienced this ourselves whenever we returned to the hotel. They were taking the time to say hello to returning guests as they came through the lobby. Reception / Staff: We arrived in the evening on a Wednesday and the staff on reception were really welcoming as we were checking in. There was construction work taking place across the street from the hotel entrance, but never any issues with traffic or noise. in the area (where doesn’t have that in NYC?). There were plenty of shops / restaurants / etc. I am a quick walker, and found that the World Trade Center was only 5 minutes from the hotel, the same with Wall Street / the waterfront which was a great location to me. We got the air-train & subway from JFK and the hotel is just a few blocks from Fulton Street Subway station. Location: We booked knowing that this was in the Financial district, but I was elated with the location. I’ve no idea on the quality of the rooftop bar nor restaurant at the hotel. To begin with, I must stress that we only used our room, and spoke to staff on the reception area. Only plus is that it is a updated hotel which was built in 2018 so you have the LCD TV on the wall mount and a nicely built bathroom with Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash in the shower already with a pump to be used. Smoking is not permitted, however you smell **** throughout the floors. I would recommend this hotel for a very short stay like a night or two just because the type of guest here can give it a bad name. ![]() It does have in and our privileges but you can definitely find a spot on the block. Parking as mentioned is in a limited space parking lot and is $29 a night. My husband dealt with a women who was rude. I only have dealt with an Asian man who is very helpful, kind and greets you everytime. The customer service definitely is different with who is at the front desk. There is no iron or ironing board if you do need one in the room. There isn't much space around the Queen bed so it makes it tight. You must request a refrigerator as they are based on availability. My room was on the 5th floor facing the back and looking down on the limited space parking lot. Its a small hotel with 5 floors and 87 rooms, king rooms face the front and queen face the back. Stayed in Insignia as renovations were being done in my apartment near by. Oh and they say free WiFi and free continental breakfast but they actually charge you $15 US per day when you check in on top of what you paid with Expedia/ for the actual wifi and breakfast so it’s not free, you pay for it and it a cold breakfast so toast/ cereals/ bagels etc. ![]() The picture of the hotel on Expedia doesn’t reflect the actual state of the front entrance of the hotel with garbage everywhere, smell of urine and sketchy individuals nearby starting at you… You will stick out as tourist when you exit the hotel I can tell you. ![]() Been yelled at by many to what appeared to be homeless across the hotel, urine and marihuana smell everywhere… We were supposed to stay for 4 days but left after 2 since we weren’t enjoying our vacation because of all this, couldn’t go out after dark and I’m a 6ft/200 pounds male but couldn’t trust the surrounding with my wife… Oh and we requested extra pillows during our stay and the employee knocked at our door 25 minutes after we called but clearly he came back from smoking ****, as soon as we opened the door, a cloud of **** smell entered our room and our pillows had a strong smell of ****… At the end of the day, it is a decent hotel in NYC for the price but we decided to book out before end of our stay as we wanted to enjoy our stay and not have to be stressed out to come back at the hotel after dark and again, I come from a large city myself and saw lots of places in my life but this is by far the worst neighborhood I’ve seen. It’s by far the worst neighborhood I’ve even seen. The hotel itself is decent but the neighborhood is really bad. ![]()
